Bruce never thought he would find another great love after his divorce from Demi until he met Maltese-born model Emma Hemming at a trainer’s gym he happened to be working with in 2007.
“I’ve spent the last 10 years single, and for the most part, I’ve been unhappy,” the Die Hard star told W Show in 2009. “It was a dark place. I never thought being with someone else was the answer. I said, ‘I’m alone, but I’m not lonely.'” But I was just joking. ”
Since he started dating Emma, who is 23 years younger than him, he says, “My daily life has become much happier.”
The couple married on March 21, 2009, on the beach at their home in the Turks and Caicos Islands. In addition to Rumer, Scout, and Talulah, Demi attended with her then-husband Ashton Kutcher. (They divorced in 2011 after six years of marriage.)
On December 29, 2024, to commemorate 17 years of living together, Emma, who has been candid about the difficulties of her husband’s illness, posted about the “unconditional love” that motivates her.
“I feel blessed to know that and it’s because of him,” she wrote. “I would do it again and again in a heartbeat.”
After Bruce was diagnosed with aphasia and months later with dementia, Emma co-founded Make Time Wellness, a supplement company focused on brain health and prenatal health, and started the Make Time podcast.
“It’s important to use our voices,” Emma told E! News 2023, “Because it creates change through action, awareness and conversation.”
