Dancing with the Stars’ Tom Bergeron sends message to ABC with final comments as guest judge
Tom Bergeron thinks the proof is in the pudding.
While serving as a guest judge on the 20th birthday episode of Dancing with the Stars, which will air on Nov. 11, Tom – who returned to the ballroom for the first time since his shocking firing in 2020 – used his final on-camera moments to plead with ABC not to criticize Alix Earle and Robert Irwin’s relay dance.
“You all were amazing,” he told the celebrity contestants and their guest partners Joey Graziadei and Xochitl Gomez. “But in my final comments as a judge, I would like to speak directly to the network.”
Looking into the camera, Tom continued: “This show is setting ratings records again, so please bring back the results show next season. Let the whole country vote. Let’s all vote.”
The request, which was met with cheers from the seated audience, was a reference to the now-defunct two-episode format of Dancing with the Stars, in which there was a performance one night and a results episode the next, with the couple with the lowest scores and votes eliminated.
