Details regarding the death of NFL player Marshawn Kneeland have been released.
Shortly after news of the Dallas Cowboys defensive end’s death broke, Texas police announced that Kneeland was found dead in an apparent suicide after a car chase with authorities.
“On November 5, 2025, at approximately 10:39 p.m., the Frisco Police Department, with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), assisted in locating a vehicle that evaded officers during a pursuit that entered the City of Frisco,” local officials shared in a press release. “After losing sight of the vehicle, officers spotted the vehicle several minutes later and it crashed on the southbound Dallas Parkway near Warren Parkway.”
“Initial reports indicate that a male subject, later identified as 24-year-old Marshawn Kneeland of Plano, Texas, fled the scene on foot,” the statement continued. “Officers established a perimeter and began searching the area with assistance from FPD K-9 and drone units.”
Police said during the search, officers received information that Kneeland had expressed suicidal thoughts and that her body was discovered at 1:31 a.m. local time.
