“Once I got serious about myself, I didn’t have the energy to date other people,” she recalled. “Right now, no one is worth my time. My priority is my kids. Other than that, if I have free time, I want to lie in bed and watch TV and I don’t want to share it with anyone else. I’m a little worried because I’m so happy. So the only thing I’m worried about is whether I want to figure this out.”
And the founders of Good Americans weren’t all that surprised to see such a strong reaction to her vulnerable omission.
“I don’t blame them,” she said of other women who choose voluntary celibacy. “It’s a different world now with social media and things like that. I think we’re becoming more selective. I’m a bit older. I’m 41, so I don’t belong to clubs and meet people.”
Chloe doesn’t even know how to start approaching a date. “I’m too judgmental,” she added. “If you have to swipe left or right, that’s not good.”
When will lifestyle choices end? Chloe is holding back for now. “When you meet the right man,” she reasoned. “i will do it.”
