“Mistakes can happen,” they added. “But it’s not wrong to fabricate such an elaborate story to avoid accountability. It’s a deception. Arya deserves better. All we want is the truth and accountability for the lives lost.”
Shortly after Aylin and Ray shared their story, a representative for Rover told E! The company said, “We can only imagine the heartbreaking experience that Alia’s family is going through.”
“Upon learning of this incident, Rover’s 24/7 Trust & Safety team conducted a thorough investigation into Alia’s death,” the company added in a statement. “The sitter involved has been disabled from our platform with no option to appeal, meaning she cannot contact pet parents or book new stays through Rover.”
The company also said it was “in contact” with the reality stars regarding the loss of their pets, adding that it “stands ready to assist in the investigation should law enforcement become involved.”
Rover’s statement concluded: “At Rover, safety is our top priority and we take Alia’s death extremely seriously.”
