It’s difficult here for Lily Allen when it comes to dating.
The “Smile” singer shed some light on how dating has been going since she split from David Harbor in February after four years of marriage, admitting it’s been “much harder” than she expected.
“I’m terribly disappointed,” she said in an interview with Perfect magazine on October 21st. “There’s an element of humiliation and shame in this film. Women my age are not portrayed as desirable in society. And I feel like I’m climbing a mountain.”
Lily knows that finding another partner won’t solve everything, but she thinks it will help.
“Being in a relationship is not the answer to all my problems,” she explained. “In fact, it’s probably the opposite. But it feels like the easier option. But it’s also very difficult to achieve in the current situation.”
After an interviewer pointed out that her new album West End Girl sings about “self-loathing,” “being too old, not good enough” and “being a failure,” Lily said her relationship with David contributed to those feelings.
