Airline websites etc. delta airlines and united airlinesaffected during several hours of chaos Monday morning. Amazon Web Services is a large cloud computing provider, but some customers have complained that they can’t access flight check-in functionality or reservations.
At 5:27 a.m. ET, Amazon said, “We are seeing significant signs of recovery. Currently, most requests should be successful. We continue to work through our backlog of queued requests. We will continue to provide additional information.”
The company said on its AWS dashboard earlier Monday that customers were experiencing “increased error rates and latency across multiple AWS services in the US-EAST-1 region.”
United Airlines responded to X customers on Monday saying it was “experiencing a system glitch impacting our online tools.” It later announced that it was updating the system.
“While there is no firm timeline yet, we encourage you to check back regularly for updates,” said another reply by X.
Delta Air Lines and United Airlines did not respond to requests for comment.
Flight delays around the world were minimal on Monday morning, according to a FlightAware tally.
While some reservations appeared on the airline’s app, customers complained on social media that they were unable to check in or drop off luggage for several hours.
