And just like that…Sabrina Carpenter is pulling double duty on Saturday Night Live.
The “Espresso” hitmaker will serve as host and musical guest on the upcoming Oct. 18 episode of SNL, and the late-night sketch comedy series gave viewers their first taste of Sabrina’s first hosting role.
Sabrina introduces the iconic character of Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw in a Sex and the City-themed teaser released on October 15, in which she declares, “New York is one big apple and I’m going to be on Saturday Night Live.”
The 26-year-old walks down the hallway backstage at 30 Rock, passing several SNL writers and cast members and making fun of himself along the way.
One of them asked her what she was doing and she replied, “Are you wearing these heels? I’m probably 5’4”.
She then mistakes Marcello Hernandez, whom she famously “arrested” at a concert last fall, for Mr. Big, Carey’s longtime boyfriend, before reuniting during a Domingo sketch on SNL 50 this February.
“Oh, thank God!” Sabrina said as she finished off the cosmopolitan. “It’s Mr. Big!”
Marcello corrects her, but eventually grabs the empty glass from her as she passes in front of him.
