sales force The company is stepping up partnerships with leaders in generative artificial intelligence as investors continue to worry about the business risks software companies face from the rapid growth of AI.
Just before its annual Dreamforce conference in San Francisco, Salesforce announced Tuesday that it will now be making AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic available within its Agentforce 360 software. The day before, Salesforce extended Agentforce to support voice calls as well as text chats.
“The way people interact with software is going to fundamentally change,” Brian Landsman, CEO of Salesforce’s AppExchange business and executive vice president of partnerships, said in an interview. Interactions could take place over ChatGPT or Slack, he said.
Landsman added that Salesforce will work with Anthropic to bring Agentforce 360 to Claude.
Salesforce stock is down about 26% this year, while the S&P 500 index is up 13% as Wall Street looks for faster revenue growth from cloud software companies. So far, Agentforce’s earnings have been “modest,” Morgan Stanley analysts, who have a “buy” rating on Salesforce, wrote in a note Monday.

As part of Salesforce’s announcement, customers will be able to access company information in Agentforce 360 and create charts in Tableau through the ChatGPT assistant, which has more than 800 million weekly users. Last week, OpenAI announced a software development kit for integrating third-party applications into ChatGPT.
Businesses using both OpenAI and Salesforce will be able to sell their products through ChatGPT’s instant checkout feature in late 2025. Salesforce plans to work with Anthropic to sell products for regulated industries, including financial services.
OpenAI announced last month that ChatGPT users will be able to purchase products from the U.S. Etsy with seller Shopify merchant.
Meanwhile, Salesforce announced that its engineering organization is adopting Anthropic’s Claude Code programming product.
“We look forward to further deepening our cooperation with these partners,” Landsman said.
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has defended his company’s position in the AI boom. And on an earnings call last month, he said both Anthropic and OpenAI use Salesforce tools.
“Every next generation of AI companies, from OpenAI to Anthropic, are using Slack,” Benioff, who is also a co-founder of Salesforce, told analysts. “And it’s incredible how they’re using it as an operating system and as a platform to run their company.”
