Diane Keaton’s legacy lives on.
Following the “Family Stone” actress’ death on October 11 at the age of 79, tributes have poured in for the Oscar winner, one of which was included in an episode of “Saturday Night Live” that aired the same day.
At the end of the episode, host Amy Poehler said goodnight and after the credits rolled, a tribute card with a black and white photo of Diane next to her name appeared on the screen. In the photo, a young Diane, wearing her signature collared shirt and tie, looks cheekily to the side, a crooked smile on her face.
Current SNL star Ashley Padilla, who previously worked as Diane’s assistant before she joined the series, reminisced about their time together on social media.
“Diane and I were always creating photo compilation videos for her (truly iconic) Instagram,” she captioned an Oct. 12 photo montage featuring pictures of Diane from throughout her life. “Houses, eyeballs, shoes, men, whatever she was enjoying at the time. We sat on Pinterest for hours looking for great photos, and then we picked the perfect song to go with whatever the theme was.”
