‘New Girl’ star Zooey Deschanel pays emotional tribute to ‘The Incredibles’ co-star Rob Reiner
Zooey Deschanel is feeling the loss of Rob Reiner on a personal level.
A day after he and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were found dead in their Los Angeles home on December 14, the New Girl alum reflected on his bond with the late Hollywood icon, who played his father on the Fox sitcom. And she didn’t hesitate to detail how “absolutely devastated” she was by the news.
“My heart is broken,” Zooey, 45, said in an Instagram post on Dec. 15. “Rob Reiner was such a warm, funny, generous spirit. A truly good human being. A great artist and a very funny and fun collaborator. I cherish the time we spent working together and the many films he made that shaped who I am.”
In addition to a photo merry-go-round featuring photos of the two on the set of the series, the actress paid tribute to Michelle before Rob married in 1989 and welcomed children Jake Reiner, 34, Nick Reiner, 32, and Romy Reiner, 28 (he was also the father of Tracy Reiner, 61, during his marriage to Penny Marshall).
