Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal saved his side from a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, converting Harvey Barnes’ last-minute shot and taking the final kick of the match from the penalty spot.
On Tuesday, Newcastle looked poised to take a slim advantage heading into the second leg when Barnes volleyed home Jacob Murphy’s cross for the hosts in the 86th minute.

But the home fans’ elation turned to heartbreak in the fourth minute of stoppage time when Malick Ciau beat Dani Olmo in the box and Yamal turned Aaron Ramsdale’s misplaced shot into the bottom corner.
