Layering scents is not a trend. It’s a lifestyle. Whether you discovered this feature thanks to Pinterest’s 2026 trend predictions or you’re an unwitting participant because you have a huge fragrance collection (like your own, in fact), fragrance stacking is here to stay.
Previously, we were all obsessed with finding the perfect signature fragrance. The only real scent you’ll want to wear every day. However, for those who love beauty and fragrance, it is impossible to keep wearing one fragrance forever. Additionally, there are only a limited number of unique perfumes available for sale. You may end up smelling like someone else. However, this is much less likely if the scents overlap.
According to Pinterest, scent stacking is like Gen Z and Millennials enjoying potions with “custom-made notes by blending oils and perfumes to create unique scent formulas.”
In the words of this beauty writer who has a collection of over 20 fragrances (and that’s just the full-sized bottles; I haven’t even started counting the travel sizes), scent stacking is easy and super fun.
