Shai Hope’s unbeaten half-century saw West Indies advance to the last eight and Nepal eliminated from the T20 World Cup.

West Indies became the first team to qualify for the Super Eights phase of the T20 World Cup with a nine-wicket victory over Nepal in India.
After restricting Nepal to 133-8 in 20 overs on Sunday, captain Shai Hope’s 61 not out helped the team to 134-1 in 15.2 overs in the Group C encounter at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Hope reached 50 off 44 balls, hitting three sixes and five fours in total.
He, along with Shimron Hetmyer, scored an unbroken 91 to reach the target of 134 with 28 balls remaining.
Hetmyer hit 32 balls with two sixes and four fours, finishing with 46 not out.
After Hope won the toss and elected to field, Matthew Ford bowled brilliantly with 1-10 from four overs, removing Nepal captain Rohit Paudel in five overs.
Nepal were in all kinds of trouble with 22-3 at the end of the powerplay in the 6th over, but with Jason Holder also getting the wicket, they were 23-4 and 46-5 in the 11th over.
Only Dipendra Singh Airi’s 58 runs pushed Nepal to the 100 mark, as he shared a 54-run partnership for the seventh wicket with Sonpal Kami, who was last with 26 not out.
Holder took 4-27 in four overs.
As a result, Nepal were unable to advance any further in this year’s T20 World Cup and were eliminated.
