We will sell 50 shares of Corning stock for approximately $133 each. After Tuesday’s trading, the Jim Cramer Charitable Trust will own 600 shares of GLW stock, dropping its weight from about 2.2% to about 2%. We are making our first correction in Corning stock since initiating the position last October, locking in about a 55% profit in the process. We’ve been discussing over the past week about paring this position and taking advantage of the stock’s rise of more than 50% since the beginning of the year. This was a tug of war between our belief in the long-term story and the discipline required after the stock’s recent outperformance. Our confidence is based on the possibility that fiber and cable manufacturers will announce further supply deals, such as the multibillion-dollar deal they signed with Meta Platforms in late January. The stock could have further upside as hyperscalers compete to secure fiber and cable supplies for data centers. However, we have balanced this with the discipline of selling into parabolic movements in stocks. Corning is up 50% this year and will be the sixth-best performing company in the entire S&P 500 in 2026. Ultimately, we always maintain that discipline trumps belief, which is why we chose to take profits on this parabolic move. Therefore, we lower our rating on the stock to 2. This means waiting for the stock price to fall before deciding to add the stock back. (Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust is long GLW. See here for a complete list of stocks.)
