HBO Max is increasing the price of its latest streaming service.
Owned by streaming giant warner bros discoveryannounced Tuesday that it would increase prices on all its plans. HBO Max’s ad-supported basic plan will increase by $1 per month to $10.99, the standard plan will increase by $1.50 to $18.49, and the premium plan will increase by $2 to $22.99. Price increases are effective immediately for new subscriptions. The company said existing monthly subscribers will be notified 30 days before their plan renews, and new charges will begin on their next billing date after November 20th.

As of June 30, WBD announced that it had 125.7 million paid subscribers across all of its streaming services. This statistic includes not only HBO Max, but also HBO’s other traditional linear subscribers who have access to the streaming service.
The HBO Max news comes as its parent company, WBD, is undergoing its own changes. In June, the company announced plans to split into two public companies by 2026. The streaming and studio company will include film properties and HBO Max, while the global network business will include linear channels such as CNN and TNT Sports.
At the same time, WBD has received takeout interest from companies such as Paramount Skydance, and said on Tuesday it was open to a sale.
