That’s the game, the set match, and the marriage for Venus Williams.
After a series of weddings over the past few months, the tennis champion has confirmed that he is married to Italian actor and producer Andrea Preti.
Venus, 45, and Andrea, 37, first said their “I dos” during a small ceremony on the Italian island of Ischia in September, but the couple originally planned to have a big ceremony eight months after getting engaged.
“We had a dream of getting married in Italy,” Venus told Vogue in an interview published on December 23. “But I didn’t have enough time to complete the paperwork. Since I’m a foreigner, it can take up to eight months. So I decided to have a second wedding.”
Just three months later, Venus and Andrea celebrated their love with a huge ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida. Six days before the actual wedding on December 21st, Venus’ sister Serena Williams hosted family and friends on a yacht. According to Vogue, the wedding was followed by a boudoir-themed bridal shower, a dinner for family and friends at Miami’s exclusive club Sopra, and a competitive sports day. (The couple also invited friends and family to their home for pool parties every day.)
