Tia talks about why she divorced Corey
Tia and Corey married in 2008 and had two children, son Cree in 2011 and daughter Cairo in 2018.
However, in 2022, the couple separated. In her divorce filing, Tia cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their breakup, but later offered insight into what happened when she found out her marriage to Corey was over.
“I knew when to really start focusing on my happiness,” the Sister, Sister alum said on a November 2022 episode of Today. “I feel the same way as women. We tend to focus on other people’s happiness and make sure other people – our kids, our friends, our family – are okay. But at the end of the day, it’s about self-love. And we tend to focus on other people’s happiness and making sure that other people are okay. But at the end of the day, it’s about self-love. When you really start to love yourself and know your worth and know your worth, you suddenly wake up. And it’s not easy. It’s a difficult journey. But at the end of the day, it feels so, so worth it. ”
After Tia was honest with herself about the breakup of her marriage, she wanted to be honest with the world.
“I was tired of not being authentic and living my truth,” she added in Tia Mowry: My Next Act. “I got tired of attending events and seeing people think everything was perfect when it wasn’t.”
