Galaxy Girl is having a blast winning the Masked Singer crown.
The mysterious celebrity behind the interstellar costume was overjoyed to be named the show’s newest winner on the April 1 season 14 finale of the Fox reality competition series. So which pop star was under the mask?
It was none other than Ashlee Simpson Ross, whose husband Evan Ross was exposed as Stingray during his Week 10 elimination on March 18th.
She beat out Normani in a crane costume for the crown, followed by Descendents star Kylie Cantrall in third place and Cat Witch and American Idol winner Phillip Phillips in a Pugcasso costume.
Just before learning of her accomplishments, Ashley reflected on how far she’s come since her career was nearly jeopardized by the infamous 2004 Saturday Night Live lip-syncing scandal.
“I’ve been interested in appearing on ‘The Masked Singer’ for years, and now that we’ve reached the final episode, I can confidently say that it’s more transformative than I ever imagined,” the “Piece of Me” singer, who is also mom to 10-year-old Jagger, 5-year-old Ziggy and Evan, and 17-year-old son Bronx with ex Pete Wentz, said in the video. “It’s not always easy to put yourself out there. When I was young and reckless, I didn’t think anything of it. It felt like the world was mine. Then one moment changed everything.”
