On Friday, Dr. Mohammed Absalmiya moved from the family home as director of Arshifa Hospital. A day later, the bodies of six families arrived still on duty.
The Israeli airstrikes struck their homes at the Alshathi refugee camp west of Gaza city, where multiple generations lived together, doctors said.
“This is the family home where we live. My brother, two of my brother’s sons, my nephew’s wife and two children were marrying,” Abu Salmiyah told CNN.
Six people have been killed and seven others have been injured, including hospital sisters, nie and ne, he said.
CNN reached out to the Israeli Defense Forces to comment on the strike target.
A video shared by Gaza’s Ministry of Health Director, Dr Munir Al Barsch, showed Abu Salmiya, who was kneeling next to the bodies of a family member in the hospital, still wearing a doctor’s scrub.
“We pray that God will give him patience and strength to his heart and the heart of his family,” Al Bahsh said in a social media post.
Gaza’s civil defense said they rescued four injured people and recovered three bodies at their homes in the North Beach area of Gaza.
“The missing person remains buried under the tiled rub. Our crew is trying to contact him and get him back,” the civil defense said.
The latest attack is as global protests strongly intensify Israel’s attempts to capture Gaza city. Tens of thousands of people have fled the city where they saw Israel destroying skyscrapers.

Israeli forces said on Saturday that they have hit more than 120 “terrorist targets” since the start of a ground operation in Gaza city.
In a statement, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said during the several days of battle, Israeli forces discovered tunnel shafts and underground passageways, and found “submachine guns and ammunition hidden in civilian structures are located.” He also claimed that he “excluded more than 30 terrorists.”
The IDF also said it would “create corridors to allow civilians to move southward for safety.”
The statement showed that Palestinians shared on social media and immersed in the earth by CNN showed the aftermath of an Israeli airstrike that struck a truck transporting evacuated people on Alsifa Street west of Gaza city.
Gaza’s Palestinian Health Ministry said at least 90 people were killed in an Israeli attack in Gaza city on Saturday. Deaths were recorded at the city’s Alsifa Hospital, Baptist Hospital, Jordan Hospital, and Al Kud Hospital in the city.
More than 65,200 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed since October 7, 2023, according to the latest figures from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The United Nations and others have warned that the attacks will exacerbate an already tragic humanitarian crisis, with parts of Gaza officially declared under hunger.
This week, an independent UN investigation for the first time concluded that Israel committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
