This may seem like the opposite. Because wouldn’t the producers of America’s biggest sport and the most-watched live TV event of the year join forces to land the world’s biggest pop star?
As it turns out, the answer is yes, in their wildest dreams. But Taylor recently revealed why he’s not ready to compete just yet.
“The truth is, Jay-Z has always been very good to me,” Taylor said on “The Tonight Show” on Oct. 6, referring to the musician, who partnered with Roc Nation and the NFL in 2019. “Our team is really close. Sometimes I’ll call her and ask her, ‘How does she feel about the Super Bowl?’ It’s not like a formal offer or a conference room conversation, we just have a really close relationship and say, ‘How does she feel about it overall?’ ‘ It’s like that. ”
But now, while she’s rooting hard for the Chiefs man, that’s not what she wants.
As Taylor said, “We can always tell him the truth, and it’s that I’m in love with a guy who plays that sport on that field. It’s violent chess, it’s gladiators without swords. It’s dangerous. I’m locked into what that guy is doing on the field all season long.”
