Let’s check out the companies that are becoming a hot topic for after-hours trading. Zoom Communications — Shares of WorkService rose about 4% after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter profits and a positive full-year outlook. Zoom’s earnings were $1.52 per share, excluding $1.23 billion of items, compared with analysts’ earnings estimates compiled by LSEG of $1.44 and $1.21 billion, respectively. The company also increased its share buyback authorization by $1 billion. SanDisk — The data storage company’s stock soared 9% after S&P Dow Jones Indices announced in pre-market Friday that it would add SanDisk to the S&P 500, replacing Interpublic Group of Companies. Symbotic — The automation technology company’s stock soared 14% after Symbotic beat fourth-quarter revenue estimates and gave a strong outlook for the first quarter. Symbotic reported revenue of $618 million in the period, compared to analysts surveyed by LSEG who expected revenue of $604 million. Agilent Technologies — Life Sciences shares fell 1.2%. Although Agilent beat sales and bottom line results in the fourth quarter, its revenue forecasts for the first quarter and fiscal year 2026 were disappointing. The company expects first-quarter adjusted earnings of $1.35 to $1.38 per share, compared with analysts’ estimates compiled by LSEG of $1.41 per share. For the fiscal year, Agilent expects adjusted earnings of $5.86 to $6.00 per share, compared to expected earnings of $6.02 per share. Keysight Technologies — Shares of Keysight, a maker of electronic test and measurement equipment and software, rose nearly 14% on the back of strong fourth-quarter results. Keysight’s non-GAAP earnings per share were $1.91, compared to the expectations of analysts surveyed by FactSet of $1.83 per share. Keysight’s revenue for the quarter was $1.42 billion, beating analysts’ consensus estimates of $1.38 billion, according to FactSet. Semtech — Semiconductor stocks fell more than 7% after third-quarter profits fell short of expectations. Semtech earned an adjusted profit of 48 cents per share on revenue of $267 million. For the fourth quarter, Semtech expects earnings of 40 cents to 46 cents per share, excluding items, on revenue of between $268 million and $278 million. Upwork, First Interstate BancSystem, PTC Therapeutics — Shares of Upwork and biopharmaceutical company PTC Therapeutics each rose more than 5%, and First Interstate BancSystem rose about 4% on news that the three stocks would join the S&P Small Cap 600 Index. PTC Therapeutics will replace SanDisk before the start of trading on Friday. Upwork will also take over from Premier on Friday, while First Interstate will take over from Hanesbrands on Dec. 2. This change is the result of a series of acquisitions. — CNBC’s Alex Harring contributed reporting.
