Stefon Diggs maintains his innocence.
The New England Patriots wide receiver has broken his silence and denied the charges against him after being charged in Massachusetts with misdemeanor charges including strangulation and suffocation and assault and battery.
“Mr. Stefon Diggs categorically denies these allegations,” his attorney David Meyer said in a statement to E! News Dec. 30 “They are unsubstantiated, unsubstantiated, and never investigated because they did not occur. The timing and motivation for the allegations are clear. They are the direct result of a financial dispute between the employee and the employer that was not resolved to the employee’s satisfaction. Stephon looks forward to establishing the truth in court.”
The New England Patriots also supported Stephon following his accusations.
“The New England Patriots are aware of the allegations made regarding Stefon Diggs,” the NFL team said in a statement to NBC Sports. “Mr. Stephon has informed the organization that he categorically denies the allegations. We stand by Mr. Stephon.”
