Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian confronts Stephen A. Smith over Super Bowl comments
Alexis Ohanian was the returning ace for Stephen A. Smith.
Months after the First Take host weighed in on Serena Williams’ cameo during February’s Super Bowl halftime show — during which Stephen hinted he was divorcing the tennis star — the Reddit co-founder shared some words of his own.
“Stephen A. Smith, I think you gave me marriage advice,” Alexis, who shares daughters Olympia, 7, and Adira, 2, with Serena, said during an Oct. 9 appearance on First Take. “is that so?”
Stephen, who appeared virtually, was quick to clarify that he wasn’t trying to reveal it.
“I didn’t do that,” Stephen said. “You know the headline. Let’s talk about that another time,” he added, adding, “I don’t deserve to be a big brother.”
Meanwhile, Alexis, who has been married to Serena since 2017, used the opportunity to point out why he doesn’t heed Stephen’s advice.
“I was going to ask, ’cause you’ve never been married before, right?” Alexis said. “Because I advise a lot of founders who want to build a billion-dollar company. And the reason I do that is because I’m building a billion-dollar company, I usually try to step away from my ideas.”
