Scott Patterson gave it his all.
The “Sullivan’s Crossing” star addressed his exit from the romantic drama after playing Harry “Sully” Sullivan for three seasons, saying fans of the show and the Robin Carr novel on which it is based “deserve to know the truth.”
“Our creative differences have become unsustainable and we have sadly come to the realization that we cannot agree to continue the show,” Patterson wrote in an Instagram post on March 5. “It is unfortunate that it is being implied that they have left me/Sally when the truth is quite the contrary.”
The 67-year-old said he had “nothing but love” for his role, adding: “I really enjoyed Sally and fought for his voice and his character. The richness and depth of Sally, which fans of the books all know and love, is so layered and interesting.”
Patterson, who starred as Luke Danes on Gilmore Girls, added, “Fans had better reason to think that I, the incarnation of this character, would be disrespectful to them as well as the show.” “At the end of the day, we are all fans of these characters and stories, and I will always support and defend the truth.”
