Dallas (AP) – Ruth Payne, Lee Harvey Oswald and his kindness to his wife will be relentlessly linked as a young mother near Dallas Assassination in 1963 President John F. Kennedy has passed away. She was 92 years old.
Payne passed away Sunday at a senior facility in Santa Rosa, California, her daughter Tamarin Laurel Payne said Thursday.
Oswald’s wife and children were staying at Payne’s house in Dallas, a suburb of Irving, in the fall of 1963. A few years after the assassination, Payne said he became the principal of a small private Quaker school in the Philadelphia area, then completed his master’s degree and worked as a school psychologist in Florida for many years before retiring and moving to California.
