Priyanka Chopra addresses ‘very hurtful’ speculation about Nick Jonas’ marriage
Priyanka Chopra is just human.
In fact, that’s why the negative comments early in her romance with husband Nick Jonas were difficult for her to understand.
“I don’t know what it was about us that hurt people,” the 44-year-old said in an interview published on February 11. “I think there was a cross-cultural nature, such as different countries, different religions, and age differences. It was very hurtful.”
Throughout the conversation, Priyanka shared that she married Nick, 33, in 2018 and did not let it affect their relationship.
“And we both, instead of looking out, we just looked at each other and were like, ‘It doesn’t matter,'” she said. “So it’s like water off a duck’s back right now.”
“It’s been eight years,” the Citadel actress emphasized. “If people want to continue waiting for the collapse, that’s their choice. I’ve stopped thinking about it.”
As for his whirlwind romance with the Jonas Brothers, with whom he shares four-year-old daughter Marti Marie, she admits she wondered if his mature demeanor was an attempt to keep her.
