Des Moines, Iowa (AP) — The Powerball jackpot jumped to an eye-opening $1.7 billion after yet another painting passed without a big winner on Wednesday.
The numbers selected were: 3, 16, 29, 61, 69, and the Powerball number was 22.
Since May 31, there have been 41 straight drawings without any major winners.
The next picture is Saturday night, with the award expected to be the third largest in US lottery history.

The estimated $1.4 billion jackpot from Wednesday night’s painting was for winners who chose to receive 30 payments over 29 years through their pension. Most winners choose the game’s cache option. This was an estimated $634.3 million.
Powerball tickets are $2 and the game will be available in 45 states as well as Washington, DC, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
