Norris finished the race in second place behind Red Bull title challenger Max Verstappen, with Piastri fourth.

The disqualification leaves Norris with a 24-point lead over both Piastri and Verstappen heading into next weekend’s penultimate race of the season in Qatar, which includes a sprint.

With up to 58 points available for the final two Grands Prix, Norris needs to score two points more than both Verstappen and Piastri over the weekend to clinch the title in Qatar.
