Netflix viewers experienced a brief hiccup Wednesday night as the video streaming platform launched the highly anticipated fifth and final season of “Stranger Things.”
Users on social media had previously posted that they were experiencing problems, and DownDetector.com showed a spike in reports around 9 p.m. ET.
“Netflix please fix your app,” one X user posted.
DownDetector recorded the first wave of problems around 7:40 p.m., with nearly 16,000 cases reported by users at its peak. East. Netflix was scheduled to release the latest season of “Stranger Things” at 8 p.m.
Netflix announced Wednesday that it will release the first four episodes of Season 5 of “Stranger Things.” The streaming service announced that it will release three more episodes on December 25th and the final episode on December 31st.
The company did not respond to requests for comment.
