Tyrese Maxey scored 36 points, including clutch plays in the second half of regulation and at the end of overtime, to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 128-122 home victory over the Houston Rockets on Thursday.
Maxey added 10 assists for Philadelphia, and Joel Embiid had an impressive 32 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Kelly Oubre Jr. of the Sixers scored 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting.

Kevin Durant fueled Houston’s offense with 36 points, but also committed eight of the team’s 17 turnovers. For the Rockets, whose winning streak ended at three, Armen Thompson scored 17 points and provided nine assists.
After Houston led 107-101, Maxey scored 11 points in the final four minutes of regulation to tie the game with Philadelphia at 115-115 with 40.1 seconds left.

Peyton Watson scored a career-high 35 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Denver to a victory over Washington.
Watson made 10 of 16 shots from the floor (including 6 of 8 from 3-point range) and added four blocks. Jamal Murray had 24 points for Denver, and Jonas Valanciunas added 16 points and nine rebounds in his return from missing 11 games with a right calf strain.
For the Wizards, who have lost eight straight, Kyshawn George had 20 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, and rookie Tre Johnson scored 19 points.
Mavericks 123, Warriors 115
Naji Marshall had 30 points and nine assists, and Dallas extended its winning streak to four with the win over Golden State.
Cooper Flagg had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Max Christie added 21 points, including 5 of 12 shooting from deep, and Brandon Williams had 19 points off the bench.
Stephen Curry made 8 of 15 3-point shots and scored 38 points, and De’Anthony Melton contributed 22 points for the Warriors, but Jonathan Kuminga landed awkwardly on a dunk attempt with 3 minutes and 52 seconds left in the second quarter and lost the game with left knee pain.
Trail Blazers 127, Heat 110
Shaydon Sharpe scored 24 of his 27 points in the second half to help Portland win against Miami.
Caleb Love scored 20 points off the bench as the Trail Blazers won their fourth straight game and moved over .500. Portland standout Deni Avdija had 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists in over 17 minutes, but left early in the third quarter with back pain. Avdija recently returned from missing three games due to a back issue.
Bam Adebayo scored 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Heat, who improved to 1 win and 2 losses in five games on the road. Miami’s Norman Powell scored 18 points but missed all seven 3-pointers, Simone Fontecchio scored 17 points off the bench and the Heat’s Andrew Wiggins had 14 points.
Clippers 112, Lakers 104
Kawhi Leonard scored 24 points, Ivica Zubac added 18 points and 19 rebounds, and the Los Angeles Clippers continued their hot streak with a victory over the visiting Los Angeles Lakers in Inglewood, California.
James Harden added 18 points and 10 assists, Jordan Miller added 14 points and John Collins added 13 points, as the Clippers improved to 14-3 for the first time since Dec. 20, starting with a home win over the Lakers.
Luka Doncic had 32 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, LeBron James added 23 points, and the Lakers fell to 3-6 since Jan. 7. Rui Hachimura scored 12 points for the Lakers, who begin an eight-game road trip with a 1-1 record.
Spurs 126, Jazz 109
De’Aaron Fox hit four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and scored a game-high 31 points as San Antonio overcame Jusuf Nurkic’s triple-double and beat Utah in Salt Lake City.
Rutgers’ rookie ace Bailey scored a career-high 25 points for Utah, while Nurkic had 17 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds. Nurkic became the first player in franchise history to record consecutive triple-doubles since Pete Maravich of the New Orleans Jazz in 1975.
Victor Wembaneyama had 26 points and 14 rebounds for the Spurs, who won four of five games and hold the second-best record in the Western Conference. Utah State has lost five of its past six schools.
Bulls 120, Timberwolves 115
Coby White scored a team-high 22 points and Chicago finished on a 9-0 run to beat Minnesota in Minneapolis.
Josh Guidi, who missed the last 11 games with a left hamstring strain, added 21 points. Jalen Smith had 17 points, Matas Buzelis and Tre Jones each had 12 points, and Isaac Okoro and Nikola Vucevic each had 10 points for the Bulls, who have won four of their past five games.
Julius Randle paced Minnesota with 30 points, while Anthony Edwards and Naz Reid each scored 20 points. Jayden McDaniels scored 16 points for the Timberwolves, who lost their fourth straight game. Rudy Gobert had 10 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
Hornets 124, Magic 97
Brandon Miller scored 20 points to lead eight players in double figures as visiting Charlotte defeated Orlando.
Collin Sexton had 19 points, LaMelo Ball had 16 points, and Con Knuppel had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets, who led by 33 points and shot 54.4 percent from the field and 47.2 percent (17 of 36) from 3-point range.
Paolo Banchero led the Magic with 23 points and Desmond Bane added 21 points. Bane’s 3-pointer gave them a 3-0 lead, but they never led again. Moritz Wagner had 14 points, Noah Penda had 13 points and Jett Howard had 10 points.
