NBA star Kevin Durant cannot unlock his Coinbase Bitcoin account

NBA superstar Kevin Durant can’t find his password Coinbase An account that holds Bitcoin, which he began to buy in earnest while playing for the Golden State Warriors in 2016. His agent couldn’t be happy.

Durant’s plight “benefited” by Hoopstar, agent Rich Kleiman said.

“We have not yet sold anything because we can’t track his Coinbase account information. This bitcoin is through the roof,” Clyman said Tuesday at CNBC’s Game Planning Conference in Los Angeles.
“It’s just a process that we couldn’t understand, but Bitcoin continues to rise, so it’s just benefiting us,” he said.

Durant, who will play for the Houston Rockets this season, began snapping Bitcoin around 2016 after US Olympic team legend and Clyman attended dinner.

“I heard the word ‘Bitcoin’ 25 times tonight and the next day I started investing in Bitcoin,” Kleiman said. The agent did not say how much Durant bought.

According to Coingecko, Bitcoin was sold for around $360 to $1,000 in 2016. The major cryptocurrencies are now almost $116,000, or more than 11,000% above the year’s highest price that Durant was buying.

Durant was unable to access his “years” Coinbase account due to “our end user error,” Clyman told CNBC on Wednesday.

“We’ve already worked directly with the Coinbase team on Kevin’s account recovery, so it was easy to joke on stage,” Clyman said.

Kleiman said he and Durant are investors too. Coinbase Globaland the company is “a valuable resource in growing our business.” In 2021, the duo’s 35 ventures signed a multi-year agreement with Coinbase to promote trading platforms that include creating content on boardroom digital assets on Durant’s sports and entertainment websites.

In a statement to CNBC, Coinbase said users can reset their passwords using self-service tools within the trading platform’s app. According to a spokesman, the platform that buys and sells cryptocurrency has a roughly 24-hour support team for account recovery requests and other inquiries.
