Mistral AI signs contract with global consulting giant Accenture

Businesses are struggling to find a return on investment from implementing AI tools. Now, AI companies are trying new strategies to solidify their technology by partnering with consultants.

On Thursday, French AI research institute Mistral AI and global consulting giant Accenture announced a multi-year partnership. The agreement will see the two companies collaborate to develop enterprise technology powered by Mistral’s AI models for customers.

Financial terms and contract length were not disclosed. TechCrunch has reached out for more information.

The agreement also includes Accenture becoming a customer of Mistral and deploying its technology to its underlying workforce.

Mistral is often considered a small European company compared to the sprawling US AI “startup,” but this partnership proves that Mistral can still reach customers of the same size, given that OpenAI and Anthropic also recently announced a partnership with Accenture.

The agreement comes as AI companies increasingly partner with consultants. For example, OpenAI just announced on Monday its “Frontier Alliance” initiative with four major consulting firms, including Accenture, to help promote its new OpenAI Frontier AI agent governance platform to enterprise customers. Anthropic also partners with IBM and Deloitte.

Is partnering with a consulting firm the secret to furthering enterprise AI adoption? It’s unclear, but what’s clear is that AI companies are definitely trying to find out.
