Megan Moloney’s new album isn’t entirely filled with sad songs for sad people.
However, there may be some cases where this is the case. As the country singer said, Cloud 9, scheduled for release on February 20, 2026, is based on her own life experiences, including both the best and the most difficult parts of being in a relationship.
“I literally write about my real life,” she exclusively told E! News 2025 CMA Awards on November 19th. “There’s always going to be songs on the album that are trying to put the pieces together.”
Will the album focus on love or heartbreak? The “Tennessee Orange” singer said it’s “a little bit of both.”
And for Megan, who performed her single “6 Months Later” in a sparkly pink outfit at the awards show, the girly aesthetic behind the album is more than just a style choice.
“I chose Pink because I think there’s a softness to this music that my other albums don’t have,” she told Variety in an interview published Nov. 19. “I think it comes from the confidence I have now. You fall in and out of love, but if you’re really confident, it’s not the end of the world if things don’t work out.”
