New details surrounding the murder of Marisa Mooney are emerging.
More than a year after Magnus Humphrey was arrested and charged in connection with his murder, prosecutors have released details about his alleged relationship with a model who was found bound and gagged in a refrigerator during a routine welfare check in Los Angeles in 2023.
During the Oct. 16 court hearing, prosecutors claimed Humphrey, 43, and Mooney, 31, had a five-day romantic relationship in the days leading up to her death, according to the Los Angeles Times, which had reporters present. It is said that the two met through their estranged brother in September 2023.
One of Mooney’s friends, Kiersten Dossett, said Humphrey had become “obsessed” with his friend and that during their week-long relationship, the two were rarely “more than a foot apart”, according to the outlet.
Dossett also claimed that Humphrey attended family barbecues with Mooney during that time and called her “my girlfriend” and “my woman,” the Los Angeles Times reported.
Humphrey’s lawyer, Michael Lambrose, also acknowledged that he was in a relationship with Mooney at the time of her death, but denied that his client was involved in her murder.
