It’s clear that Mariah Carey isn’t into the drama.
Especially when it relates to her longtime rival Eminem. The “obsessed” singer didn’t want to play the rapper’s mother in the eight-mile, so he cleaned the air about rumors that their beef had begun.
“Who knows who approaches who,” Mariah explained in an episode of Wath What Happes Live on October 1st, whether the story is valid. “No, I mean, it depends on what he’s thinking.”
Host Andy Cohen questioned whether the incident “lit a beef,” but Mariah simply wasn’t interested in the issue with the “mockingbird” rapper.
“I really don’t care,” she said. “Whatever he said I was. It’s really not, it’s rap lyrics.”
In June, Mariah’s former manager, Damiza Young, claimed that she was first excited to call the rapper to appear in the film. But when Eminem called it, it was all downhill.
“I want you to play my mother,” Damiza said on the TFU podcast. He remembered Eminem, 52, and said before revealing her reaction to Mariah, 56. “She didn’t like that s- at all. Her anxiety kicked in a big time.”
