There have been new warnings about the worsening situation in Gaza, where Israel is trying to capture the largest city of the enclave.
Some of the key developments are:
“Last Opportunity”: Israel’s defense minister issued “Last Opportunity” for Palestinians to move south. “The people who remain in Gaza will become terrorists and supporters of terrorism,” Israel Katz wrote Wednesday.
Hamas said Katz’s comments represent “a prominent embodiedness of arrogance.”
The key route has been closed. Israeli forces also announced on Wednesday that Al Rashid Street, Gaza’s main coastal highway, will close traffic from the south from noon, tightening the siege of Gaza city.
The attacks on Israeli cities forced more Palestinians to escape by packing their belongings into cars and donkey carts heading south, from the worst of Israeli attacks and what Israel said was a humanitarian belt in central and southern Gaza.
Red Cross: The Red Cross has shut down operations in Gaza city and is putting even more pressure on a few tense medical facilities still operating in Gaza city.
The Red Cross said the suspension was temporary and the team would remain themselves “to protect and support the most vulnerable,” and could support “a few remaining hospitals and health care” centres amid the surge in patients surrounded by weapons. The Doctor Without Borders halted the operation in Gaza City last week.
