The torture and murder of two young women and a teenage girl was live streamed to dozens of audiences on social media, sending shockwaves through Argentina, sparking protests across the country.
Thousands took them to the streets this weekend, demanding justice from the three victims.
Investigators believe he was killed five days ago after a conflict with a drug gang. Their torture and murder were broadcasted to around 45 people through private social media groups, according to Javier Alonso, the Minister of Security in Buenos Aires.
Six people have been taken into custody, Governor Buenos Aires Governor Axel Xilov said on Monday that he described him as a “narc femido.” Investigators are still searching for six more suspects, he added.
Authorities believe the woman is seduced by Florencio Valera’s home about 25 kilometres south of the Argentina capital and believes she will attend the party, but once faced with stealing drugs, she is accused.
Footage of their murders includes the voices of what appears to be gang members saying, “This is what happens to people who steal drugs from me.”
Alonso said the victim may have previously encountered a drug gang and the murder could have been motivated by “revenge,” but added that police are still trying to establish details of the encounter.
While police were still investigating motives, feminist organisations seized the deaths as highlighting the country’s issues regarding gender-based violence. Many of the banners at this week’s protests have sent messages like “Stop killing us” and “Not less than one.”
According to data from Casa Del Encuentro, a civil advocacy organization for women’s rights, 164 women were killed in Argentina in the first eight months of 2025.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, the mother of three women demanded justice.
“I want to have them all behind the bar,” Brenda’s mother Paula said in tears. “They pulled my daughter away from me. My daughter was a good girl. And none of these three girls deserved to have them finished the way.”
