The mysterious video shared by LeBron James has surprised the internet with doubts whether the NBA superstar is preparing to announce his retirement or simply preparing to announce another commercial venture.
The 10-second video posted on James’ social media channel on Monday led the Los Angeles Lakers star to reveal “all decisions” at 16:00 GMT on Tuesday, teasing the event “The Second Decision.”

The video was a clear reference to James’ first famous “decision” in 2010. It was when he kept the basketball world on the tenter hook before he announced that he would leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and join the Miami Heat in free agency.
Monday’s video comes as James, 40, prepares to make history by becoming the first NBA player to start the 23rd-day season in the league later this month.

Last week on Lakers Media Day, James said he hadn’t decided when he had planned to retire from basketball, only admitting that he expected it to be “late.”
“I’m excited today, and I’m excited to see the opportunity to play my favorite game in another season,” James told reporters.
“Whatever the journey this year, I’m very invested because I don’t know when the end will be. It’s slow.”
A US media outlet report on Monday’s video questioned the headline “Could my retirement be next?”, but also said James has a commercial partnership that includes Amazon that can explain mysterious posts. Amazon is holding a sales event on Tuesday.
However, Monday’s video reportedly surged ticket prices for the final home game of the season, such as his retirement, or simply a new business venture.
The report, citing Tickpick, an online marketplace for buying and selling tickets for sports and cultural events, said the cheapest tickets for the Lakers’ games against the Utah Jazz on April 12 jumped from $85 to $445 after the video earned online.
The cheapest price for tickets for SeatGeek Online Sindover Market was an eye-opening $821, while the lowest price for Ticketmaster was advertised for over $955.
