Laura Dern would never say anything that would ruin a friendship.
The Big Little Lies star knew exactly how to avoid potential spoilers when discussing an ongoing fan theory that her appearance in Taylor Swift’s “Bejeweled” music video contains an Easter egg from the Grammy winner’s latest album, “Life of a Showgirl.”
In response to speculation about the video, which features a similar Showgirls aesthetic to Taylor’s new song, Laura coyly told E! News’ Erin Lim Rose said in an exclusive interview, “All I know is how lucky I am to know Taylor Swift.”
And while the Oscar-winner remained tight-lipped about her cameo appearance on “Bejeweled,” which appears on Taylor’s album Midnight, she was happy to draw a connection between the “Cruel Summer” singer and her Apple TV+ series “Palm Royal,” which will premiere its second season on the platform on Nov. 12.
Indeed, Laura, who plays feminist activist Linda Shaw in the comedy alongside Allison Janney (Evelyn Rollins), Kristen Wiig (Maxine Delacourte-Simmons), Carol Burnett (Norma) and Leslie Bibb (Dinah), believes Taylor’s showgirl personality would have hit it off with another character in the series.
