Katie Thurston on her breast cancer treatment plan
After receiving a stage 4 diagnosis, Katie provided an update on her treatment plan.
“Cancer in the liver is caused by breast cancer,” she shared. “So basically, my breast cancer is the root and it’s the focus. I’m going to start 6 rounds of chemotherapy.”
However, just before Katie was scheduled to start this treatment, she received another update.
“Today I was supposed to start chemotherapy,” she wrote on Instagram on April 4, 2025. A few minutes after taking steroids for chemotherapy.
As a result, Katie said, “chemotherapy sounds like it’s off the table right now.”
“I’m sure I’ll be excited about that,” she added. “But two months later, I continued to get three latest diagnoses. I think thoroughness and getting a second medical opinion contributed to my early cancer stage journey.”
