Justin Timberlake is fighting for his privacy.
A Grammy Award winner has filed a legal motion to block police body camera footage from the incident from being released to the public after he was arrested for drunk driving on Long Island, New York in 2024.
In court documents obtained by MS Now, Timberlake’s lawyers said they are seeking to prevent the video from being released on the grounds that it depicts personal details about the singer that are not related to “law enforcement actions of public interest.”
“The harms of public exposure, including stigma, harassment, reputational damage, and permanent loss of privacy, are immediate and irreversible,” the lawyers said in a written statement.
The *NSYNC alum’s legal team also said the video captures personal moments after his arrest.
As Edward D. Burke Jr., one of Timberlake’s attorneys, said in court documents, according to MS Now, “The body camera footage captures approximately eight hours of continuous recording, invading areas of Appellant’s life and emotional state that have no connection to Appellant’s arrest.”
Burke also noted in a March 1 letter to the Sag Harbor Police Chief that the video shows another civilian near Timberlake, 45, who “holds legitimate privacy interests.”
