Jimmy Kimmel is back on TV.
ABC is Jimmy Kimmel Live! It will resume on September 23rd, six days after news that the late-night show had been suspended indefinitely due to comments about Charlie Kirk’s death.
“Last Wednesday, we decided to suspend production at the show to avoid further inflaming the tense situation in our country’s emotional moments,” the network said in a September 22nd statement to NBC News. “This is a decision we made because we felt that some of the comments were poorly timed and therefore insensitive.”
However, ABC and Kimmel have since debated their first choice. As the network said, “We spent our last day in thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”
Kimmel’s show halt was confirmed by ABC on September 17th, two days after the 57-year-old boy worked on a discourse about Kirk’s death.
“The Magagang is desperately trying to characterise the child who killed Charlie Kirk as something other than one person,” Kimmel said in a monologue on September 15th, “And then they’re doing everything they can to score political points.”
