Jill Martin doesn’t take the day for granted.
In the two years since today’s contributors shared their breast cancer diagnosis, she has learned to just stay alive.
“Life is precious,” Jill says E! News: October 1st, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, today’s Pink Power Generation Day. “Don’t take a day on a normal day. Choose what you want in life and then say no to everything that isn’t. Life is too short.”
Part of choosing what she wanted in her life meant choosing who she wanted to do with.
“I’m surrounded by the most magical people, and that’s intentional,” said Jill, who divorced Eric Brooks in 2023 shortly after sharing the diagnosis. “I’m going to enjoy every second.”
Lifestyle contributors were revealed at the NBC Morning Show in July 2023 that they had undergone genetic testing, in addition to her regular mammograms, which led to her stage 2 diagnosis, due to her history of her mother and grandmother’s illness.
She also now has cancer-free after undergoing double mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, hysterectomy, chemotherapy and post-diagnosis radiation.
