Jen Affleck’s husband asks for ‘prayer’ to overcome illness during ‘Dancing with the Stars’
Jen Affleck dedicated a week to feeling better.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wife star, who is competing on this season’s Dancing with the Stars, showed up to dance at Night of Dedication on Oct. 14 with professional partner Jan Ravnik after being sick in bed for a week.
Jen and Jan danced a Viennese waltz to Lauren Daigle’s song “Rescue” in honor of their mother Malia and her husband Zach Affleck’s children Nora, 3, Lucas, 2, and Penelope, 3 months.
“This past year has been the most difficult year of my life with prenatal and postnatal depression, as any mom knows,” Jen said of her meaningful dance during the episode. “I didn’t know how much my mother struggled until I became a mother myself, so this is for all mothers.”
The pair received 8 points from judge Carrie Ann Inaba, 7 points from guest judge Kim Johnson, 7 points from judge Bruno Tonioli, and 7 points from judge Derek Hough.
Carrie Ann said of their performance, “It was the most passionate dance you’ve ever performed.” “I can see where your courage comes from. There’s something deep there.”
