This one.
In fact, Lionsgate released the first trailer for Michael Jackson on November 6th, starring Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s nephew and caricature of his late uncle.
While Quincy Jones (Kendrick Sampson) gives him a pep talk from the studio, Jaafar completely transforms in Michael’s clip, taking to the stage in front of fans, accepting his Grammy Award, and doing his signature moonwalk.
Finally, Michael approaches the microphone in the recording booth and asks, “Q, could you please turn down the lights?” before flashing his signature grin.
The teaser is set to a mashup of Michael’s hit songs “Wanna be Startin’ Something,” “Beat It,” and “Human Nature,” and ends with clips from different eras of Michael’s life, from his childhood to the filming of his “Thriller” music video to his iconic dance scene at the end.
The trailer received praise from Michael’s son Prince Jackson, who praised his cousin’s performance.
“I’m so excited for the world to see this,” Prince wrote on Instagram on Nov. 6, along with a clip of the trailer. “I’m so proud of everyone involved, but most of all, proud of my cousin @jaafarjackson, because the world isn’t ready for you.”
