DAYAL AL BARA, Gaza Strip (AP) – Israel pressed for an attack in Gaza on Wednesday. US President Donald Trump’s peace plan For the territory that fought.

The deaths included people who were seeking evacuation at schools protecting displaced people in Gaza City. Officials at Al-Falah School in the city’s eastern Zeitoun district was attacked twice, several minutes away, according to an official at Al-Ahli Hospital.

Among the victims, they said, were first responders. Five Palestinians were killed late Wednesday morning, and the strike-stricken people gathered around a drinking water tank on the west side of Gaza city, the same hospital said.

Also in Gaza city, Shifa Hospital said it had received the body of a man killed in a strike at his apartment west of the city.

The Israeli strike also collided with the Nusayrat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing her husband and wife, Al Auda Hospital said. According to the same hospital, another man was killed in another strike at the Blage refugee camp.

The funeral of Yahya Barzaq, a journalist who works at TRT, a Turkish broadcasting outlet who was killed in a strike in Gaza on Tuesday, was planned, according to the station.

Israeli forces did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the murdered journalists or Wednesday’s strike.

Israeli campaign in Gaza has killed more than 66,000 Palestinians and injured nearly 170,000 people, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. The ministry does not distinguish civilians and extremists from their victims, but it said women and children account for about half of the deaths.

The war was triggered by Hamas attacks on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, with extremists killed around 1,200 people and acquiring 250 people. Most of the hostages have been released under previous ceasefire deals, but it is estimated that 48 are still being held in Gaza. 20 believes Israel is still alive.

Trump’s peace proposal

On Tuesday, Qatar Trump’s proposal to end nearly two years of war in Gaza. Hamas said he would study the plan both within the group and among other Palestinian facts before responding.

Qatar’s comments, a major mediator, appeared to reflect the Arab state’s complaints about the text of the 20-point plan issued by the White House after Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Monday that he had agreed to it.

The plan receives widespread international support, so Hamas must release hostages, leave power in Gaza, and disarm them in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners and the end of the battle. The plan guarantees a humanitarian flow, promises a reconstruction in Gaza, and places more than 2 million Palestinians under international governance. But it does not set a path to a Palestinian state.

The occupied West Bank Palestinian government, as well as governments in Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia-Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, said it had welcomed the plan.

More obstacles and fleets headed for Gaza

Israeli forces said starting from noon on Wednesday, they will only allow Palestinians to travel south along the only north-south route still open to the coastal area. That is, those fleeing the fierce battle in Gaza City could not head south, but north.

The military did not provide details about the closure, but the roads bring great symbolism to the Palestinians. When Israel opened access to the north earlier this year – Gaza’s most heavily destroyed region Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians crowded itviews their return as an act of immobility and rebellion.

Hundreds of thousands remain evacuated throughout Gaza, and finding food is a daily struggle.

A widely monitored fleet of activists carrying an iconic amount of humanitarian assistance is sailing towards Gaza, which organizers described as their biggest attempt to break Israeli maritime blockade.

Activists riding on a global smooth fleet of around 50 ships say they are hoping for Israeli authorities Intercept them as happened in past fleet attempts To reach Gaza. On Wednesday, they said the two ships were harassed by Israeli warships overnight, but that didn’t stop them from intercepting them.
