Cairo, Egypt (AP) — Israeli strikes killed at least 14 people overnight in Gaza city, Israel has stepped up attacks there, I urge the Palestinians to leave.

Strikes are coming as the West is getting more and more tired of the fierce war in Gaza Moves to recognize the Palestinian state At a gathering of world leaders of United Nations General Assembly next week. In a statement on Friday, Portugal’s Foreign Ministry said it would. Recognize the Palestinian state on sunday. The Iberian country had previously announced plans to do so, but now has an official date.

Portugal is located among other Western countries, including the UK, Canada, Australia, Malta, Belgium and Luxembourg. It was expected that they would recognize the Palestinian state in the next few days.

The latest Israeli business launched this week will further escalate the conflict that has shaken up the Middle East and pushed the ceasefire even further out of reach. The Israeli forces who say they want to destroy Hamas’ military infrastructure have not given a timeline for the attack, but there were signs that it could take several months.

Israeli artillery bombardment over the past 23 months has killed more than 65,000 people in Gaza, destroying vast areas of the strip, ousting about 90% of the population, causing a devastating humanitarian crisis.

Dr Ramimanna, managing director of Shifa Hospital, where parts of the bodies were brought in, said the deaths included six of the same family after the strike struck the house early Saturday morning. They were relatives of the hospital’s director, Dr. Mohamed Abu Selmiya, he said.

The Palestinian red crescent said five other people were killed in another strike near Shaw Square.

Israeli troops did not immediately answer questions about the strike.

Recently, Israel has urged the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians evacuating Gaza city to move south into what is known as humanitarian zones.

Palestinians have flowed out of town – some by car and others on foot. Israel opened another corridor south of Gaza for two days this week to allow more people to evacuate. However, many Palestinians in the hungered city are reluctant to be uprooted again, and are too weak to afford to pay for the travel.

Aid groups warn that enforcing thousands of people to be evacuated will exacerbate a tragic humanitarian crisis. They are seeking a ceasefire, so aid can reach those in need.

On Friday, UNICEF said four trucks had been stolen from life-saving treatment foods targeting thousands of children in Gaza. According to the statement, an armed individual approached a truck outside the Gaza city’s compound, and the driver was held at the muzzle while food was being filmed.

“They were intended to treat malnourished children in Gaza, where hunger has been declared… it was a life-saving cargo amidst strict restrictions on the provision of aid to Gaza.”

In a statement Friday, Israeli forces accused Hamas of stealing food.

Israel accuss Hamas of sucking up aid and using it to fund military operations without providing evidence. The United Nations says there is a mechanism in place to prevent a major shift in aid.

Gaza deaths have risen above 65,100, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, part of Hamas-run government. October 7, 2023, Attack By Hamas, who caused the war. The ministry did not say how many of the deaths were civilians or extremists. That figure is considered a reliable estimate by the United Nations and many independent experts.

Hamas-led militants plunged into southern Israel in the 2023 attack, killing around 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and acquiring 251 people. The 48 hostages remain in Gaza, with less than half of them being believed to be alive.
