intel The company on Thursday unveiled new PC chips that will be included in laptops next year as it struggles to turn around its sluggish business.
The company says the new Panther Lake processors are built with the company’s 18A technology and are the most advanced nodes made in the continental United States.
The new generation of chips will be manufactured at Intel’s Fab 52 facility in Arizona, which the company says is now fully operational and on track to begin production.
“The United States has always been home to Intel’s cutting-edge research and development, product design and manufacturing, and we are proud to build on this legacy as we expand our domestic operations and bring new innovations to the market,” CEO Lip Vu Tan said in a release announcing the news.
Intel is also building Xeon 6+ servers with 18A processors at the site. These are scheduled to debut in the first half of 2026.

This latest announcement comes at a critical time for the beleaguered chipmaker, which has fallen behind in recent years and is struggling to keep up with demand for cutting-edge chips spurred by the artificial intelligence revolution.
In August, the U.S. government acquired a 10% stake in the company with the aim of boosting U.S. manufacturing capacity. Intel has also received investments from SoftBank and major AI chip manufacturer Nvidia.
Since taking charge of Inter in March, Tan has faced immense pressure to deliver.
This summer, President Donald Trump called Tan “highly contradictory” and called for his resignation, but later changed his tune.
