Saturday night’s match was one sided and Imabov (20-4 MMA) took part in the contest with 62% of victory in either KO/TKO or submission, thus controlling the duration of the fight with clean boxing and pressure amounts so that Boralho (17-2 MMA) would not allow him to find an opening.
Imanov, who claimed the No. 2 ranking in the UFC middleweight division, struggled with himself about not finishing Boraljo as he had planned.
Despite not winning the halt, he had one message for Chimaev (15-0 MMA).
“I’m next,” Imabov said as the crowd exploded in his postwar speech. “(Borralho) was undefeated for 10 years. I beat him and beat him with style. I need to be the next one (to fight for the UFC middleweight title).”
No. 7 rank Borralho’s loss recorded his first mark within the UFC. After the fight, he recognized Imabov as one of the toughest opponents of his career.
“Nassoldeen, thank you for your respect,” Boraljo said. “Thank you so much… I think Nassoldeen was a better guy today. He was as fast as I expected. He did very good things in the fight. I really wanted to entertain this fight for the fans and the UFC.
In a joint headline fight, the lightweight Benoit St. Dennis secured a naked chalk over Mauricio Raffy at 2:56 in the second round.
St. Dennis (15-3 MMA) won a big lift from the crowds in his hometown and became the first fighter in his career to file a Rafi (12-2 MMA).
Raffy’s defeat to St. Dennis went back to November 2019 and was hit with seven consecutive wins.
